Bachelor of Medicine at the Universidade Metropolitana de Santos, Rafael Silvestre Knack began his career as a general practitioner and worked in the Family Health Program – SUS. Specialized in Sports Medicine at the Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP-EPM) and member of the Brazilian Society of Sports and Sports Medicine (SBME), specialized in Endocrinology at the Centro de Ensino Superior de Valença do Rio de Janeiro (CESVA), member of the Endocrine Society, member of the Brazilian Society for the Study of Obesity and Metabolic Syndrome (ABESO), member of the Brazilian Society of Endocrinology and Metabology (SBEM). He deepened his studies in Advanced Disorders in the pathologies Diabetes Mellitus and Thyroid Diseases at the prestigious medical school in the United States of America (USA) Harvard Medical School, with scientific papers published in the Journal of Public Health of the same institution. Professor of Postgraduate Sports Medicine at Faculdade Phorte, where he teaches courses on thyroid disorders in athletes. Postgraduate in Nutrology (ABRAN) at Irmandade Santa Casa de São Paulo (FCMSCSP) and Postgraduate in Clinical Nutrology at FMUSPRP, Master in Stricto Senso at UMC College of Mogi das Cruzes (UMC) within the Integrated Program in Biomedical Engineering. Master student in Nutrition, Physical Activity and Sports at the Universidad Europea del Atlantico. 

The academic field has always been one of his passions, invited due to his simplified didactics, he taught classes in the Postgraduate Course in Sports Nutrition at the Universidade de Franca (UNIFRAN), Assistant Professor at the Advanced Studies Center of Orthopedics and Neurosurgery Traumatology of Sport – NAEON, played the role of Doctor Professor Preceptor in the Clinical Outpatient Clinic and taught theoretical classes in the discipline of Endocrinology and Metabology related to sports. As a scientific consultant, he worked at Libbs pharmaceutical companies and participated in teaching courses for medical professionals together with the alliance Boehringer Eli Lilly, Merck, Sharp & Dohme, Novo Nordisk. With extensive experience in the field of sports nutrition, he was a scientific advisor to the nutritional supplement companies Athletica Nutrition and Adaptogen Science. He is also a physician on the clinical staff of Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein-HIAE, Physician on the clinical staff of Hospital Moriah. 

He is a clinical experience in sports injuries (athletes and non-athletes), metabolic disorders related to sports activity such as: Thyroid and parathyroid disorders, correlating endocrine-metabolic pathologies, including obesity and its comorbidities, male hypogonadism, climacteric, menopause, growth and developmental disorders, food intolerances, sleep disorders (obstructive sleep apnea syndrome), oncological cases where the patient benefits from dietary and sports treatment. Today, Dr. Rafael S. Knack is developing studies in the field of sports genetics, oncology and disorders associated with sleep apnea syndrome (OSA). The pandemic caused by Sars-Cov-2, the cause of COVID-19, has awakened the importance of in-depth studies in the field of molecular biology and public health and represents a new challenge for the medical class, strengthening solidarity, humanization and research.
