The inaugural 40 under 40 cohort represents the next generation of leaders, entrepreneurs, researchers, scientists, activists, intellectual provocateurs, authors, and directors who inspire and catalyze us all to a more just and equitable world.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Eligible nominees must be under the age of 40 by May 2, 2022.
  • Nominees must be employed in or have a connection to the public health sector. They should be established or rising professional leaders with a strong record of innovation and outstanding performance in issues related to public health and/or social justice.
  • Multiple nominees from the same organization can be submitted.
  • We take both self-nomination as well as nominations from others.
  • Nominees must be members of BCPH for their application to be considered.
  • Non-members may sign up for $50.00 (student) and $100.00 (non-student). Registration comes with a membership to BCPH.

SELECTION PROCESS

A selection committee will be appointed by the BCPH and the HPHR Journal to assess and evaluate all nominees for their demonstrated leadership, innovation, commitment and contributions within their organizations, communities, and the public health field. Successful nominees will demonstrate a track record of outstanding performance and leadership skills to advance and advocate for current public health issues.

Successful nominees for the BCPH 40 Under 40 Public Health Catalyst Awards will have the following benefits and advantages:

  • National and international recognition as a public health leader
  • You will have your biography and picture on the official website of the Boston Congress of Public Health as a 40 under 40 in public health awardee
  • Opportunities for national and regional media covering including journalists and reporters from the NYC Daily Post and other media outlets.
  • Opportunities to network with other public health leaders from the 40 under 40 program as well as the wider BCPH network 
  • Professional development opportunities including access to policy trainings, being part of the production team of television series, and participating in a Fellowship program through the HPHR Journal (formerly Harvard Public Health Review)
