“If access to health care is considered a human right, who is considered human enough to have that right?”

Quynh Xuan Nguyen Truong, MPH, is a pioneer in health social work in Vietnam and the country’s first palliative care social worker. She is a strong advocate for mental health, psychosocial care in medical system and health access for vulnerable populations. Quynh is in the Board of Directors of Vietnam Palliative Health Care Association; the Mental Health lead of the Medical Network in the Association of Vietnamese Scientist and Experts. 

She is also a Lecturer at the Vietnam University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Ho Chi Minh City, Adjunct Lecturer in the Dept of Palliative Care at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Ho Chi Minh City, and Social Work Supervisor at the University Medical Center of Ho Chi Minh City. Currently, Ms. Truong is a Fulbright Scholar at Boston College with the field placement at the Division of Palliative Care & Geriatric Medicine, MGH.
