Todd Brown, MSc is a dedicated and ambitious medical student at the University of Utah with a passion for improving healthcare through patient advocacy, research, and policy. Todd obtained his master’s degree in International Health Management from Imperial College London. While there, Todd worked as a research assistant at the Centre for Health Economics and Policy Innovation. His research was in conjunction with Public Health England and explored 1) the use of fiscal levers as a policy measure to reduce sugar consumption, 2) an evaluation of the impact of Covid-19 on food in Bermuda, and 3) an evaluation of the Bermuda discretionary foods tax.
At the University of Utah, Todd assisted in the creation of Uganda Dermatology ECHO. This program provides monthly opportunities for continuing professional development (CPD) for primary care providers in Uganda looking to enhance their knowledge of dermatology. Todd currently conducts research at the VA Salt Lake City Health Care System’s Informatics, Decision-Enhancement and Analytic Sciences Center (IDEAS). His research is focused on the impact of policy change on access, quality, and cost with a focus on health equity.
