Dr. Aravind-Kumar Radhakrishnan
Dr. Aravind-Kumar Radhakrishnan is an native of India, who is doing his Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology in Europe (Spain and Georgia) by European Society of Cardiology (EAPCI). He did his post-graduation in Heart Failure from the University of Zurich, Switzerland, and Completed a Heart Failure Fellowship at Royal Brompton in London as well as a Master’s in Echocardiology in Padua Italy. Currently doing his doctoral thesis in Heart Failure at (Charité University Berlin) Germany. He is the President of the Liberia Cardiac Society, an Honorary Board of directors in Public Health Literacy in the USA, Founder of Let’s Focus Health, and a Young National Ambassador of the Georgian Heart Failure Association.
Dr. Aravind has received multiple prestigious scholarships, fellowships, awards, and others including from ESC EAPCI 2023 grant winner for the Prestigious Interventional Cardiology Fellowship with a scholarship of 25,000 Euro, which is highly competitive among European citizens and Permanent residents of the EU. Dr. Aravind is part of the Community Committee which is heavily involved in creating partnerships among community organizations with the goal of helping to reduce gaps in the health of rural communities with the vision of reducing premature death mainly due to cardiovascular disease in south India and Liberia.Dr.Aravind has given many lectures for university and school students on Healthy lifestyles, Weight Management, and the Importance on BMI, etc. He has given several presentations, webinars, and Health awareness for the Public and patients on Healthy Heart, Diabetes and Heart, Hypertension, prevention of Coronary Artery Disease, Obesity and CVD and lifestyle changes, etc.
During the COVID-19 crisis, he participated in several webinars along with local physicians in India to create awareness among the public, community workers, and Teachers, He is actively participating with other organizations like the Rotary Club and NGOs for creating awareness on CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), Highlighting Importance of CPR and teaching CPR by the local team. He always mentions in his talk to the public in meetings and lectures that, 80% of cardiovascular diseases are preventable and prevention measures are easy and cheap, and awareness of prevention of premature Death due to cardiovascular diseases. Dr. Aravind has experience in community empowerment projects and public health research within rural regions of south India and currently, he is involved in developing with an Indian IT Company software for Liberia and West African Countries for Health care projects, namely ECG Telemedicine and a special project on Rheumatic Heart Disease screening with a digital stethoscope and followed by Echocardiography for Confirmation among rural children’s, RHD project is waiting for approval from Liberian Ministry of Health. Dr. Aravind likes reading books, and teaching biology/ Science to school students, besides running and cooking.
