Uzoamaka E. Okwor is a distinguished public health nurse and chronic disease epidemiologist with extensive background in disease prevention, health promotion, and community health assessment. She holds her bachelor’s degree in nursing science from the University of Nigeria and a Master’s in Public and Global health from the University of Tampere Finland. Uzoamaka demonstrates exceptional skills in epidemiological research and exhibits strong leadership capabilities, particularly in coordinating complex multi-site studies and fostering collaborative research initiatives. With over eight years at the Department of International Research Center of Excellence (IRCE) within the Institute of Human Virology Nigeria, she has excelled in roles such as Research scientist and Study Coordinator. Her contributions include overseeing a prospective cohort study on non-communicable diseases among people living with HIV and coordinating a feasibility and acceptability study of a novel m-Health intervention for breast cancer in North-Central Nigeria. Currently pursuing a PhD in epidemiology at the University of Arizona, Uzoamaka remains dedicated to exploring the prevalence and risk factors of chronic diseases among vulnerable populations, aiming to shape impactful public health policies and interventions globally.
