Thomas Carpino

Tom Carpino (he/they) is an early career researcher and faculty teaching fellow at Johns Hopkins University (JHU) in Infectious Disease Epidemiology. His scholarship explores sexual health and syndemics, predominately among sexual and gender diverse populations. Currently funded by the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases to study mpox, Tom collaborates with investigators from JHU, Emory, and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Passionate about public health as a whole, Tom hopes to make the world a better place through his teaching, advocacy, and research and has published in several publications, from MMWR to BCPHR (formerly HPHR).
