Sana Farooqui is the Director of Operations for the Heights Hospital and Director of Public Health Initiatives for the affiliate company, NCP Management. Based in Houston, Texas, she has a background in domestic healthcare policy, hospital performance metrics and data analytics, and systemic healthcare disparities and access to care. As Director of Operations, Sana spearheaded the accelerated revitalization and restart of the century-old, historically community-centered Heights Hospital, mobilizing a small team to remodel and relaunch the site within four months.
Prior to this, Sana worked on creating and deploying a health-tech start-up, linking uninsured and underinsured patients to cash-pay services in the Houston area. She also mapped gaps in hospital quality data and tracked COVID-19 health equity outcomes for Rush University Medical Center, the latter culminating in a co-authored paper in the Joint Commission Journal on Quality and Patient Safety. During her stay in Boston, Sana devised outreach initiatives and coordinated with Boston-area case managers for the Boston Children’s Hospital Office of Community Health. Her experiences demonstrate that equity and access-based solutions are linked to understanding healthcare data analytics and operations / capacity development.
Sana obtained her MPH in Health Management from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where she was appointed an Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Fellow, was selected as a Vice-President of the Women in Leadership organization and received the School’s Student Recognition Award. She also earned her MPP from the University of Maryland, College Park in International Development, Economics and Security, as well as her BA in Government in Politics. During her free time, Sana enjoys drawing on her government and politics background to organize and serve in various voter and citizenship initiatives targeting historically marginalized and disenfranchised communities.
