Dr. Thierry Lienou

Dr. Thierry Lienou is an accomplished occupational therapist with a passion for healthcare delivery and technology. Originally from Cameroon, he immigrated to the United States in 2008 to further his education. He obtained his Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from Howard University in 2015 and his Doctorate Degree with advanced competence in telerehabilitation from New York University in 2020. As an occupational therapist from a socio-economic minority background, Thierry has focused his practice on marginalized and underserved populations. He is particularly interested in healthcare delivery in less resource settings through telehealth and digital technology. Thierry’s goal is to apply his clinical and academic experience and expertise in telerehabilitation towards improving healthcare access in rural communities in sub-Saharan Africa, especially in Cameroon. Thierry is also committed to contributing to research on healthcare delivery in less resource settings. He has worked in academia to develop guidelines for practice and implementation of tele-rehabilitation and digital technology towards underrepresented populations in the US and around the world. Thierry’s experience as an occupational therapist, researcher, and advocate for underserved communities will inspire students to think critically about the role of healthcare professionals in promoting health equity and social justice.
