Emily Lamunu is a dedicated 3rd year doctoral student at Boston University’s School of Social Work, fervently advocating for health equity and social justice. Throughout her extensive career in social work, she has supported health facilities and marginalized communities in Uganda. Her professional endeavors reflect her goal of supporting marginalized groups and addressing policy gaps in global health. At BU’s Center for Innovation in Social Work and Health, Emily shares her experiences to further the Center’s objectives, showcasing a strong commitment to promoting health equity through research and projects in Uganda, Rwanda, and the USA. She aims to make significant contributions during her doctoral studies and aspires to become a future leader in global health. Driven by her past experiences and unwavering determination, Emily’s ultimate vision is to effect social change and make a lasting impact on global health.
