Dr. Melchiorre is in her final semester of basic medical science at Ross University, she recently finished her doctoral degree during first and second semester of medical school and looks forward to the publication of her work on nonspecialist providers treating hepatitis C in a telehealth model in the HPHR Journal.
Dr. Melchiorre has been a practicing physician assistant for the past decade, primarily in New York City working in Federally Qualified Community Health Centers. She is credentialled in HIV medicine and has been avid supporter of treating opioid abuse and hepatitis C in primary care. She has been teaching HIV medicine in Seton Hall’s Physician Assistant Program for the past several years. Dr. Melchiorre has also been on the speaker boards and advisor boards for Novo Nordisk and Gilead, her work with the underserved is experience that she loves to share and is in high demand. She recently joined the inaugural group of the Lyon Speaker Bureau with the Boston Congress of Public Health.
While in medical school, she co-founded and became the current president of the Rossie Yoga Club. She is committed to physicians in training learning self-care and wellness while in school so that they have better coping tools once they are practicing. She is also grandmother to Lilly and mommy to two fur babies, Sophie and Sadie who she rescued while at school in Barbados.
